Physician - Geriatric Medicine

The University of Kansas Health System, Division of Geriatric Medicine, is seeking a faculty member to join its expanding team to support the departmental mission of delivering the highest quality of care, as well as satisfying teaching, research, and academic responsibilities at the region's quaternary referral center.

This position offers a fulfilling opportunity to provide comprehensive medical care to Internal Medicine patients at The University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC), while also delivering consultative services to colleagues within the faculty. As a clinician educator, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals, including Geriatrics Fellows, Internal Medicine residents, Family Medicine residents, and medical students, through hands-on teaching in clinical settings.

Your week will be structured around a 40-hour commitment as part of our dedicated geriatric team, balancing responsibilities between outpatient clinic sessions and coverage in skilled nursing facilities. Regular participation in educational and administrative conferences, as guided by your immediate supervisor, will ensure ongoing professional development and alignment with departmental goals. Collaboration with faculty and interdisciplinary professionals is essential, particularly in implementing the Age Friendly Health System Initiative and contributing to the Landon Center on Aging, which integrates community engagement, education, research, and clinical care.

Moreover, you will have the opportunity to contribute actively to various educational and clinical initiatives aligned with your specific areas of interest and expertise, fostering innovation and excellence in patient care and education. • Board Certified/Eligible in Internal Medicine
