Position Summary / Career Interest:
Assesses and analyzes electronic medical record end-user learning needs; develops and maintains curriculum and tools to meet those needs. Implements a credentialed trainer program to ensure all classroom trainers have proper level of system knowledge and can deliver training content effectively. Configures electronic medical record training environment to ensure end-users can practice using the electronic medical record. Collaborates with analysts and to ensure latest system configuration information is incorporated in training material. Designs and executes ongoing training programs for new-hires and system changes/upgrades.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Participates in EMR application activities they may impact training
- Basic understanding and participation of all pertinent application roles, stakeholder roles and leadership roles and approval process.
- Demonstrates basic competence/knowledge in the design and development of adult learning curriculum, specifically for the healthcare setting including EMR.
- Demonstrates basic competence/knowledge of the healthcare setting and electronic medical records (EMR), overall information technology systems and concepts, software and training methodologies and adult learning theory and practices.
- Maintain and apply knowledge in assigned area. Demonstrates ability to apply knowledge to assigned tasks.
- Maintain and apply knowledge in assigned support areas for on-call as well as at elbow.
- Understands the planning, coordination and delivery of training methodologies for the HITS department and customers.
- Ensure adequate implementation team, stakeholder involvement in the training process.
- Follows training plan to ensure adequate training.
- Follows approved training plan templates to assure training schedule and resource requirements are included. Review with project manager or manager for approval and sign off on each training plan.
- Follows leadership direction in training initiatives.
- Assists in identifying test scripts to help develop lesson plans during System, Integration and Regression testing.
- Certification or proficiency (with certification level score) in assigned EPIC application or demonstrated learning of other assigned application must be obtained within 6 months of employment or assignment, respectively. If certification or proficiency is not achieved within the guidelines of Epic’s number of attempts termination of employment will occur.
- Assist with training expectation for new department hires.
- Assists with reviewing that all are following established process to ensure all training is properly documented, logged, tracked, and managed.
- Responds to off duty call.
- Participates in 24/7 command center activities as assigned.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- Associates Degree in Education, Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Training, or related field OR 6 years of related experience
- 1 or more years of training experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree
- 1 or more years of healthcare experience
- 2 or more years of training experience
Preferred Licensure and Certification
- Certification in one Epic application - National certification (i.e. HIMSS programs, etc.)
Knowledge Requirements
- Able to use phone, read a computer monitor, read technical documentation manuals, receive directions and follow through to completion, solve common design and development problems, and apply critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
- Able to use a computer.
