Operational Sourcing Analyst

Position Summary / Career Interest:

The Operational Sourcing Analyst is responsible for knowledge and understanding of the end-to-end processes of supply chain to support all functions of the position. The Operational Sourcing Analyst is also responsible for processing purchase order requisitions for the acquisition of supplies, materials, and equipment on behalf of The University of Kansas Hospital. This position administers all activities associated with the purchasing function including issuing purchase orders to vendors, validating order accuracy, confirming receipt of order, and addressing purchase order discrepancies in a timely manner for accurate payment of invoices. This position supports departments across the organization working with a variety of suppliers to handle back orders and product substitutions, vendor management concerns and freight management.


Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

• Knowledge of supply chain end-to-end operations.
• Manages the daily purchasing functions of issuance of purchase order to suppliers.
• Validates and manages order accuracy and addresses pricing issues as appropriate.
• Manages the back order and product substitution when the need arises.
• Assists with addressing discrepancies in a timely manner for accurate payment of invoices.
• Supports bill only requests in timely manner as assigned by leader.
• Supports vendor management functions as assigned by leader.
• Supports freight management needs as assigned by leader.
• Provides timely communications to all customers internal and external.
• Responsible for review and completion of business sourcing report discrepancies in support of departmental KPI’s.
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience

• Associates Degree in spend management, business administration or a related field of study from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelors Degree in spend management, business administration or a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
• 1 or more years of experience in business
