As an Associate EMR Developer within the centralized Analytics and Business Intelligence department, you will assist in fulfilling analytical requests generated by various departments within the health system. Under the guidance of senior team members, you will learn to navigate and understand the EMR system, extract and analyze data using SQL, and contribute to the development of basic reports and dashboards. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code with focus on reliability embedded in development standards to support data processes.
- Engage with Application Analysts and Clinical Informatics Analysts during design and build stages to align content development with operational workflows and validate requirements that define success as part of the implementation.
- Engage with Data Analytics Engineers to profile existing data models and develop recommendations for improvement that foster scalability and sustainability.
- Create, analyze, modify, configure, and distribute content using information technologies to support clinical and operational processes and organizational initiatives in the EMR environment.
- Perform all steps of product development stages when designing new data models (requirements collection, research, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and configuration) that meet health system development standards based on assigned domains.
- Responsible for integrity of the outputs including validation of the data in analytical solutions, systems, and data domains.
- Monitor the performance of existing analytical solutions and taking corrective action to optimize or improve their performance for assigned domains and associated data models.
- Detect data discrepancies and data quality issues and work with other content development members and subject matter experts to ensure data consistency and integrity within systems, data models, and applications.
- Learn workflows, data collection methods, and reporting solutions to present advantages/disadvantages of analytical options available to the customer.
- Ability to translate analytical business requirements within request and design solutions that meet the needs of the customers.
- Assist in the development and presentation of analytical findings to stakeholders, fostering collaborative discussions and contributing to informed decision-making
- Review tasks critically and ensure they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery.
- Communicate request and project roadblocks and delays before they require escalation.
- Actively participate in training sessions and workshops.
- Identify new data sources necessary to achieve desired clinical and/or business outcomes and engage with content development support teams to integrate data into a consistent and usable format in the EMR environment
- Discover opportunities for an organization to improve its systems and processes through the use of data analytics.
- Assist with efforts to develop and maintain documentation related to datasets and data models in the EMR environment, ensuring that everyone on the content development teams uses the same language, definitions, version control, and change management guidelines.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent years in experience).
- 2 or more years data analysis and content development experience in a healthcare environment (including knowledge of standard healthcare nomenclator and terminology).
- 3 or more years SQL experience in a relational database or an equivalent combination of education and experience or other comparable programming language.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience developing applications with one or more business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Qlik, SAP Business Objects, Tableau, etc.
- Experience with database management technologies.
- Experience in database building, maintenance, and reporting.
Required Licensure and Certification
- Epic certification in 1 data model(s). If not certified, certification is required within 12 months from employment within 1 Year
Knowledge Requirements
- Proficiency with MS Office Products.
