Position Summary / Career Interest:
The Compensation Analyst is responsible for administration of the Health System's compensation program and administrative processes. These responsibilities include doing market research, developing and reviewing salary ranges, job families and salary structure methodology; advising on salary offers for new hires and internal transfers/promotions, approval and revision of compensation-related transactions in the manager self-service software program, analyzing market salary data and internal equity and making adjustment recommendations, and evaluating FLSA classification, and pricing jobs This position is also a advisor and partner for management and leadership on projects such as departmental compensation analysis/structure, career path development, and revisions to new and existing job descriptions. This position prepares and conducts market salary surveys works extensively in the Health System's HRIS programs, setting up new jobs, approving compensation, and other processes, and in our MarketPay survey database. Other responsibilities include: preparing, reviewing, and implementing the annual market-based pay adjustments for union and general employee populations; administration of career ladder programs, compensation operating guidelines, incentive programs, and shift differential and supplemental pay programs.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Conducts thorough job evaluations by reviewing and updating job descriptions, meeting with management to develop a complete understanding of the job being evaluated and comparing similar positions; creates job descriptions as needed
- Evaluates new positions to market-price jobs and determine level and grade within the organization; identifies market benchmarks and sources; create job codes as needed
- Reviews and approves Manager Self-Serve compensation actions submitted by managers and recruiters; ensures accuracy of transaction with backup documentation and salary approvals; works extensively in the Health System’s HRIS programs, approving rates of pay, and other processes
- Works closely with recruiters and managers/directors to review and provide salary offers for new hires and internal transfers/promotions
- Partners with health system management and leadership on departmental compensation analysis/structure, career path development, and revisions to new and existing job descriptions
- Coordinates or participates in special projects related to compensation
- Primary back-up for the compensation administration; participates in administration of the annual market based pay process, 1290 PE and KUNA union increases
- Conducts or participates in compensation surveys.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in related field of study from an accredited college or university OR 4 years equivalent experience.
- High School Graduate
- 2 or more years of experience in Human Resources, Finance, or Analytics role.
Preferred Education and Experience
- 3 or more years of direct, recent and relevant experience working with employee compensation.
Knowledge Requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and compensation and HR systems.
- Strong written and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and interpretive skills.
- Ability to handle work-related stress and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Uses high level of judgement and confidentiality.
