Physician - Neuro-Ophthalmologist
The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Ophthalmology,is seeking a Neuro-Ophthalmologist to join our team! Facultymemberwillprovide comprehensive clinical and surgical services,engage in shared call coverage and inpatient consults,supervise medical students and residents in clinics and surgeries as well asparticipatein the didactic teaching program, as well asserve on departmental committees.This position will support the mission of delivering the highest quality of care, as well as satisfying teaching, research, and academic responsibilities.Academic rankcommensuratewith experience.
Candidates interested in research may be afforded protected time to complete clinical and bench research, but all candidates will be encouraged toparticipatein clinical research and scientific presentations at national/regional meetings in addition to their clinical and teaching duties.Additionally, the role includes providing services to the VA and other sites under a Professional Services Agreement with The University of Kansas Health System.
Required Qualifications:
- MDor equivalent degree
- Must be BoardCertified/Eligiblein Ophthalmology and successful completion of a surgicalNeuro-Ophthalmologistfellowship
- Eligible for medicallicensure in Kansas
- Experience in a clinical and surgicalNeuro-Ophthalmologistpractice and ORsettings
Preferred Qualifications:
Academicbackground involving teaching with interest in clinical or basic research is preferred.
Successful in growing own research programs with the ability to obtain funding from public and private sources is desired.
