Performs a variety of patient care activities to assist physicians and nurses in the clinic environment. Performs in-take and assessment tasks for patients seen by the Pain Clinic providers. This position acts as a liaison among physicians, patients, caregivers and other Team members. The Office lead supports processing of OHP reimbursement paperwork, uploads the on-call calendar and provides information for OHP leadership as needed. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Develops and maintains thorough knowledge of day-to-day operational activities of clinic and demonstrates ability to back up all front office positions.
- Obtains and maintains comprehensive knowledge of computer system and functionality of medical billing software. Adjusts provider schedules as needed. Reviews and verifies reports as directed by Medical Office Supervisor.
- Assists Medical Office Supervisor in training, orientation, monitoring, and annual evaluation of front office staff performance. Communicates in a positive and constructive manner.
- Assists Medical Office Supervisor in monitoring work hours, overtime, and PRN usage in front office. Establishes front office monthly work schedule including determination of variances necessary in work schedules due to absenteeism, PTO, meetings, patient workload, etc.
- Assists Medical Office Supervisor in implementing front office departmental procedures according to OMSI standard policy and procedure.
- Maintains working knowledge of all office equipment and inventory supply levels. Communicates work requests appropriately to facility maintenance personnel and/or ITS as appropriate and/or as directed by the Medical Office Supervisor. Submits appropriate paperwork for Purchasing and/or Finance.
- Informs Medical Office Supervisor of all incidents (events) and appropriately handles in a timely manner.
- Maintains clean, orderly front desk and waiting area.
- Participates fully as a member of the Patient Centered Medical Home Team. Assists and coordinates follow up on tests and referral results utilizing the referral due date report.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
