The HME Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and logistics coordination. This role ensures efficient movement of goods, accurate documentation, compliance with safety standards, and high levels of internal and external customer service. The supervisor leads warehouse staff, supports continuous improvement, and drives operational excellence.


Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Oversee day to day warehouse activities, including product receiving, storage, picking, packing, and distribution.
  • Ensure proper handling, staging, and organization of inventory to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Monitor equipment use (forklifts, pallet jacks, delivery vehicles) and coordinate maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant warehouse environment in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including scheduling, documentation, and communication with carriers.
  • Optimize delivery routes and logistics processes to reduce cost and improve service levels.
  • Track shipments to ensure on time delivery and resolve any transportation-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts and audits.
  • Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective action.
  • Support forecasting and replenishment efforts with purchasing and supply chain teams.
  • Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and recordkeeping.
  • Leadership & Team Management:
  • Supervise, train, and support warehouse associates, drivers, or logistics personnel.
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor performance and productivity.
  • Conduct coaching, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Promote a positive team culture focused on safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Identify workflow challenges and recommend operational improvements.
  • Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Support technology, equipment, or system upgrades that enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory, company, and industry standards.
  • Prepare inventory, logistics, and performance reports for leadership.
  • Oversee proper documentation for audits, inspections, and compliance checks.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
  • 3 or more years of experience in warehouse, logistics, distribution, or inventory management.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in warehouse, logistics, distribution, or inventory management.
  • 1 or more years of prior supervisory or team lead experience.
  • 1 or more years of experience in healthcare, durable medical equipment (DME), or regulated industries.

Required Licensure and Certification
  • Forklift certification obtain within 90 days from the date of hire.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license, Kansas Class C or equivalent. MVR results must be in compliance with Health System Safe Driving Program Policy.

Knowledge Requirements
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, shipping/receiving practices, and inventory control processes.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer applications (Excel, Outlook, ERP systems).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced, physical environment.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations for drivers and transportation (preferred)
