As a Retail Sales Coordinator, you will be the driving force that keeps our hospital gift shop operations running smoothly and efficiently. Acting as the bridge between our team, store operations, volunteers and customers, you'll coordinate product availability, track sales performance, and ensure promotional campaigns are executed strategically. Your role will combine organization, communication, and problem-solving to support sales growth, enhance the customer experience, and help our team exceed targets. This is a dynamic position where no two days are the same—you'll be juggling schedules, managing inventory updates, preparing sales reports, and ensuring every detail is in place so our gift shop is a place of friendliness and comfort. Note: Schedule is Days, 9:00am-5:00pm Monday thru Friday


Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for day-to-day oversight of retail department, including volunteers, to meet/exceed customer and hospital expectations. This includes volunteer schedules and training, managing opening and closing procedures, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and providing an excellent customer experience.
  • Assists Volunteer Services with recruiting, onboarding, communication, recognition, and coordination of duties and activities/events for the volunteers. Specifically responsible for training, evaluating and ongoing support of gift shop volunteers.
  • Creates retail strategy for the purchase, pricing and management of merchandise including ordering, receiving, returning, and tracking inventory. Ensures that stock is well-organized and that displays are visually appealing to maximize sales.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote products and increase sales. Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies as necessary to meet revenue targets.
  • Coordinates and executes holiday decorating of the gift shop and public spaces/lobbies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure a steady supply of products. Serves as the primary contact for vendors.
  • Handles all financial management including cash management, processing transactions, reconciling cash drawers and preparing sales reports. Works closely with the finance team to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures and prompt payment to vendors.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Graduate

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 3 or more years demonstrated experience and success in a retail operation.
  • 1 or more years previous experience in volunteer management.

Knowledge Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Projects and maintains a professional image and demonstrates high energy and enthusiam.
  • Able to think strategically and creatively when approaching any opportunity or challenge.
  • Well organized, flexible and able to effectively juggle multiple priorities effectively with routine interruption.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
