Position Summary / Career Interest:
The Ambulatory Clinic Assistant (Roomer) is responsible for ensuring efficient flow of patients through the health care setting by completing patient care tasks in a culturally sensitive manner with exceptional customer service; contributes to patient care by assisting with the clinic visit, performing patient vital signs, organizing clinic/exam rooms, maintaining supply/equipment inventory, performing in the role of the patient chaperone, Obtains updated information from patient, such as recent hospitalizations, recent cardiac tests from other facilities, allergies/reactions and pharmacy name/location.

Knowledge Requirements
- Accurately schedules tests; obtains films and reports.
- Assists physicians and/or nurses to room patients, obtain vital signs, set patient up on MyChart and report findings to medical assistant or RN.
- Collaborates with members of the health care team to assist in obtaining outside records prior to or during clinic visit as delegated by the medical assistant, RN, or physician.
- Maintains medical records; distributes reports and correspondence; files, photocopies, and processes forms (e.g. FMLA and Short-term disability paperwork) related to medical charts.
- Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms; stocks assigned areas and ensures par levels of supplies are maintained; checks and completes required logs and equipment such as refrigerator logs, eyewash logs, emergency/crash carts, suction and other required checks.
- Performs clerical duties such as greeting patients; registration; scheduling; and answering phones.
- Performs in the role of chaperone during sensitive examinations or when requested
- Performs vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures and documents in medical record
- Assist in the transport of patients
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Graduate or GED.
Preferred Education and Experience
- At least 6 months of Health Care or clinic office job-related experience. OR
- Enrolled in an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
Required Licensure and Certification
- Basic Life Support Heartsaver (BLS HS) (Non-Clinical) - American Heart Association (AHA)
Knowledge Requirements
- Basic typing and word processing abilities.
