Position Summary / Career Interest:
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Business Operations, is responsible for organizing, directing, and coordinating the activities and business operations of the Perioperative and Procedural Services Centralized Scheduling and Revenue Cycle/Resource teams. Provides cross-functional guidance, leadership and expertise for surgical and procedural business operations support for analysis, governance, compliance, performance improvement.

Provides cross-functional guidance, leadership and expertise for surgical and procedural business operations support for analysis, governance, compliance, performance improvement.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Help build, define, and develop centralized business operations strategies for Perioperative and Procedural Services.
- Oversee and direct the daily business operations of defined departments. Supervise all staff supporting business operations (surgical and procedural scheduling, charging, auditing, and preference card support).
- Participates in the assessment of the department as well as individual education needs. Plans programs/ in-services to meet staff needs. Serve as an expert around specific team competencies, maintains necessary business and/ or clinical competencies for assigned areas.
- Facilitate consensus and adoption of key performance indicators and standardized procedures that minimize variation and inefficiencies across the system.
- Work intimately with physicians and perioperative leaders to negotiate optimum value throughout the system.
- Assist and support surgical and procedural departments to achieve the key performance indicators.
- Identify and address opportunities for integration and standardization of key performance indicators across the system.
- Oversee development and maintenance of all dashboards, scorecards, and timelines related to the execution of assigned initiatives.
- Serve as a division team leader for business operations, advising and collaborating with department leaders as they carry out the vision and division strategies.
- Use time and resources to the best possible advantage for successful completion of job responsibilities.
- Determine how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
- Guide team members to achieve goals in accordance with established policy and procedure.
- Ensure collaboration across unit to maximize teams’ operational effectiveness and value add.
- Direct staff in setting team priorities in alignment with division strategy, evaluates work assignments, and provides ongoing assistance and performance development/ growth.
- Assist in the establishment of programs, policies, and standard operating procedures reflecting the philosophy and objectives of the unit and division.
- Assist Senior Director in connecting project work across the division and health system.
- Provides recommendations and direction regarding proposed projects and/or other related programs.
- Create and deliver presentations that translate complex information into business terms appropriate for executive-level constituents.
- Represent the Senior Director or Senior Advisor at internal and external meetings, as designated.
- Represent Perioperative and Procedural Services at national, state, and local meetings, conferences, and other public events.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or other healthcare related degree from an accredited college or university. A combination of education and work experience may be considered.
- 5 or more years of experience managing a team in a healthcare setting and demonstrated success in organizational leadership and change management.
- Experience in business operations in a highly complex surgical or procedural enterprise and/or direct experience in healthcare quality/performance improvement or project management.
- Previous experience in leading large scale surgical, procedural, or other system level projects.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience with surgical or procedural scheduling and pre-procedure call workflows.
- Experience in surgical or procedural revenue cycle management.
- Experience with Epic is a plus.
Knowledge Requirements
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite - Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Strong history and track record of completing quality projects on time, as well as coaching and mentoring others to success.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and develop new skills and capabilities to help advance work across the Perioperative and Procedural Division and throughout the health system.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Able to handle stressful situations with perseverance and professionalism.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and assess/adjust quickly to changing priorities.
- Ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and work as an effective member of a multifaceted team.
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
