Physician Scientist or Scientist - Faculty Director for Cellular Therapies
The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and the Division of Hematologic Malignancies and Cellular Therapeutics, is seeking a Physician Scientist or Scientist for the role of Director of Cellular Therapeutic Laboratory. This faculty position offers involvement in a diverse and high-volume pathology practice, coupled with significant research and teaching prospects. This is a full-time faculty appointment at Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank on either a tenure track or non-tenure clinical/scholar track, depending on qualifications.
We are experiencing rapid growth year over year in clinical trial protocol, tests, and procedures. Our program currently performs 300 hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation on an annual basis, and over a hundred of CAR-T treatments per year, many were performed based on clinical trials. Our National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center is the region’s only certified CAR-T facility offering 6 FDA approved CAR-T therapies that provide rich opportunities for clinical and translational research, both within the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and the Division of Hematologic Malignancies and Cellular Therapeutics within the health system.
Required Qualifications:
- MD or PhD or MD/PhD
- Extensive track record of accomplishments in Cellular Therapeutics
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interest or have extensively published in the field of Cellular Therapies or have an active research program, optimally with external funding.
