Physician - Rhinology and Skull Base Surgeon


The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a full-time fellowship-trained, board certified/board eligible Rhinology and Skull BaseSurgeon at the Assistant/Associate Professor level, to provide surgical and non-surgical management of sinonasal disease, providing medical and surgical interventions for rhinologic conditions, including functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), septoplasty, turbinate reduction, and nasal reconstruction and surgery for anterior skull base disorders. This individual will join a clinically and academically productive Rhinology and Skull Base division of two surgeons who work with a team of skull base neurosurgeons.  Practice sites will include The University of Kansas Health System, as well as our affiliated sites of the Kansas City VA, and University Health Medical Center, all in Kansas City.

The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City is an academic and regional referral center. Patients come from all over the Midwest Region for advanced diagnosis and innovative treatments.

Preference will be given to those individuals who have strong clinical and surgical experience and an interest in research, educating residents, medical students and fellows and scholarly activities.  There are a considerable number of clinical trials and funded translational research within the division, and the Department has the resources and infrastructure to support a candidate who currently holds or has the potential for securing competitive external funding.

The University of Kansas Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery is dedicated to being broadly diverse and inclusive.

Required Qualifications:

  • MD, DO or equivalent degree 

  • Completion of ACGME-accredited residency training in Otolaryngology

  • Must be Board Certified/Eligible in Otolaryngology

  • Fellowship training in Rhinology

  • Expertise in surgical and nonsurgical management of rhinologic and anterior skull base disorders

  • Eligible for medical licensure in Kansas and Missouri
