Physician - Cardiothoracic Surgeon


The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (CTS) is seeking a dedicated Cardiothoracic Surgeon who enjoys collaborative practice on a CTS team in a fast paced, highly acute, and diverse clinical practice. The candidate is expected to have superb surgical skills in all aspects of cardiac and thoracic surgery, be board-eligible or certified in thoracic surgery, and have broad experience and meet targeted quality outcome measures. Opportunities for scholarly effort and clinical research are available and participation in the academic missions of the department is encouraged. The department offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits. The faculty Clinical Track emphasizes professional service in clinical settings.

Job Duties:

  • Care of cardiothoracic patients
  • Teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students
  • Participation in research
  • Supervision of PAs and NPs

Required Qualifications:

  • Board-eligible/certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery
  • Completion of Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship
  • Must be able to obtain or maintain Kansas and Missouri medical licenses
