Position Summary / Career Interest:
The Mobile Device Technician is responsible for assisting customers with selection and support of either personal or enterprise owned mobile devices throughout the enterprise. This position provides technical support and direction with a wide degree of written and verbal communication methods surrounding mobile devices including iOS, Android, Windows and OS X.
The Mobile Device Technician is responsible for assisting customers with selection and support of either personal or enterprise owned mobile devices throughout the enterprise. This position provides technical support and direction with a wide degree of written and verbal communication methods surrounding mobile devices including iOS, Android, Windows and OS X.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Participates in ordering, configuring and deployment of mobile devices including smartphones, tablets, etc.
- Supports end users by assisting with complex setup and configuration of mobile devices including decisions on appropriate device, initialization, wiping, reconfiguring and troubleshooting
- Proactively engages the End User Architecture, Security and System Administrations teams to satisfy requests for new applications or functionality or resolve system, or hardware deficiencies in existing systems.
- Participates in the engineering, planning, and deployment of mobile devices and apps.
- Assists with planning and implementing new system installations pertaining to mobile devices.
- Represents the Desktop Support team in a positive and constructive manner.
- Maintains documentation on the systems technical configuration, contacts and functionality.
- Contributes and maintains common troubleshooting tips in the designated knowledge base.
- Keeps current vendor and system data owner’s contact information in the designated location.
- Maintains relevant training materials for systems.
- Maintains documentation proficiency.
- Responsibilities include planning and scheduling system upgrades and updates.
- This also includes coordination with other HITS teams, vendors, users, interfaces, and other systems that feed or accept information from this system.
- This would include server as well as workstation updates.
- Follows department change request processes.
- Works with application administrators to insure retention periods for the application data are following Hospital or regulatory requirements.
- Works with Software Asset Management Team to evaluate and install apps on mobile devices.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Graduate
Preferred Licensure and Certification
- Apple ACiT (within first 6 months of employment) within 180 Days
- CompTIA Mobility+ (within first 6 months of employment) within 180 Days
Knowledge Requirements
- Knowledge of Airwatch, InTune and Jamf
