Position Summary / Career Interest:

The Hospitality Services Financial Manager assists leadership by managing a variety of financial activities including collaborating with Health System Finance on budget development, monitoring and analysis of budget to actual variances, auditing Hospitality Services financial processes, productivity reporting, and reporting and reconciling retail transactions.


Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Provides monthly and quarterly reviews of financial data related to operations.
  • Provides ongoing financial analysis support to department leaders within Hospitality Services and partner with them to manage budget variances.
  • Monitors the daily cash reporting process of retail operations.
  • Reviews and approves Hospitality Services invoices up to authorized approval level.
  • Acts as a liaison between Hospitality Services and the Health System Finance.
  • Supports internal and external operational, financial, and compliance audits within the Hospitality Services departments including product inventory reviews.
  • Assists in the periodic review and development of retail prices.
  • Assists leadership with development of strategy, policy and processes, and financial decisions.
  • Monitors productivity and prepares reports and recommendations for leadership, analyzing for service, quality, growth, and cost expectation.
  • Assists with the development of the operational budget, and monitors and analyzes expenditures.
  • Develops and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Participates in Hospitality Services LEAN process improvement activities.
  • Assists in the annual capital asset inventory and reports Hospitality Services capital asset disposals.
  • Assists leadership with the review and analysis of Hospitality Services contracts and pricing agreements for the purpose of determining risk, benefit, and changes in cost by contract year.
  • Manages employee badge payments (payroll deduction, resident and volunteer stipends, nutritional services gift cards, and other badge payments with Odyssey PCS).
  • Oversees all purchasing for the dining services (purchasing supervisors will be a direct report).
  • Serves as primary liaison with Vizient and Sysco to ensure optimization of purchasing programs.
  • Works with patient and production managers to capture and accurately transfer costs to appropriate cost centers.
  • Will work with purchasing supervisor to develop inventory system.
  • Will conduct for the implementation of Micros/Odessey financial programs, payroll deduct and budget responsibilities.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related area from an accredited college or university OR 4 years of relevant experience.
  • 3 or more years of finance, general accounting, and/or internal auditing experience.


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Health care experience.


Required Language Skills

  • Fluent English - Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.


Knowledge Requirements

  • Proficient with MS Office.
