Clinical Social Worker Supervisor
The Clinical Therapist Supervisor is responsible for providing psychotherapy services to patients and families and acting as an advocate to help clients to access resources while confronting their personal issues such as mental illness, addiction, and abuse. Provides individual psychotherapy, family therapy and group therapy. This individual will provide leadership and guidance to the clinical therapists in the department of psychiatry while ensuring compliance with health system requirements and standards.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
Assesses patient and/or family biopsychosocial needs and develops treatment plan in concert with physicians and other providers
Provides individual psychotherapy, family therapy and group therapy utilizing evidenced based therapies to address psychiatric illnesses
Documents patient/family status and history, diagnosis, treatment plan, evaluation results, observations, progress in medical record
Serves as a resource to other staff on community resources in area of specialty
Serves as patient advocate and liaison with physicians, families, and community to provide quality care and address client needs
Provides clients with community resource information
Supervises clinical social workers in the psychiatry department. Ensures all individuals provide care in accordance with regulatory and health system standards. Performs peer review at regular intervals.
Provides orientation and onboarding support as needed for clinical social workers. Providers leadership and supervisory services to all direct reports.
Collaborates with department leadership on strategic and operational initiatives related to psychotherapy services provided in psychiatry clinics.
Time permitting and upon request from those pursuing clinical licensure, provide supervision to support their clinical hour requirements towards this licensure.
Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
High School Graduate
Bachelors Degree
Masters Social Work from an accredited College or University OR
4 or more years of clinical experience
Preferred Education and Experience
Master's Degree Behavioral Sciences or Social Work from an accredited College or University
Additional year of experience in area of specialty.
Social work or clinical therapy in medical setting
Psychotherapy in medical setting.
Required Licensure and Certification
Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker(LSCSW) - State Board of Behavioral Sciences or LCMFT, LCPC, LCMSW, or LCP also acceptible. OR
Preferred Licensure and Certification
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors (LCPC) - State Board of Behavioral Sciences OR
Knowledge Requirements
Knowledge of social work or master’s level therapy (as appropriate to clinical license) principles and practice
Stays abreast of state of art in field.
Knowledge of how to use variety of diagnostic tools and techniques including DSM V.
Knowledge of the development and maintenance of information/referral systems.
Current Licensed Clinical Therapist
Basic typing and word processing ability
