Position Summary / Career Interest:
The Intake Coordinator facilitates a welcome and easy access to The University of Kansas Health System clinic treatment intake process. The Intake Coordinator serves as a liaison to providers, clinic staff, nursing staff and patients to promote optimal patient care. Coordination ensures that patients receive the nursing care they need by facilitating communication among the team regarding plans of care.

Coordination ensures that patients receive the nursing care they need by facilitating communication among the team regarding plans of care.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
- Demonstrates competence in the areas of critical thinking, interpersonal relationships and technical skills.
- Demonstrates high verbal and written communication skills.
- Serves as a point of contact for those patients being scheduled to receive treatment in the clinic.
- Provide information regarding patient plans of care to treatment nursing staff.
- Collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, management, pharmacists and other ancillary staff.
- Possesses knowledge of administrative policies and departmental procedures.
- Attends and actively participates in any staff training or education which relates to their position and would contribute to their knowledge.
- Responsible for other duties or projects which are assigned by Management. These may include special projects, patient supervision, filing, scanning, copying and other duties as instructed.
- Coordinates, communicates, and assists in monitoring work flow and work tasks necessary to manage fluctuating volumes.
- Performs all duties in a manner that protects the confidentiality of patients and does not solicit or disclose any confidential information unless it is necessary in the performance of assigned job duties.
- Monitor scheduled nursing visits for treatment patients. Evaluate and communicate nursing-related patient care concerns and issues to pharmacy and clinic teams prior to the arrival of the patient. Follow up on the concerns and issues to ensure proper changes have been made and/or addressed.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree
- High School Graduate
Required Language Skills
- Fluent English - Read, write, speak and understand English
Knowledge Requirements
- Strong verbal and writing skills
- Computer literate and high knowledge of various computer software programs
- Ability to engage clients and families
