Position Summary / Career Interest:

Has overall responsibility for non-clinical departments – Health Information Management, Environmental Services, and Food Nutrition Services. This position is responsible for departmental budget planning and development and plays a major role in the development of long-term business plans for the hospital.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for the efficient, effective and responsive patient care through oversight and management of clinical areas.
- Develops organization wide patient care policies/and procedures for patient care delivery.
- Demonstrates effectiveness in determining future needs for patients and the organization.
- Ensures that all areas of responsibility function in a manner that meets all regulatory and TJC requirements. Oversees regulatory compliance throughout the hospital.
- Provides direction to educational and teaching efforts, goals, objectives, policies, procedures and protocols.
- Formulates budget for areas of responsibility and ensures adherence to the approved budgets.
- Ensures safety, infection control, human resources, administrative, and departmental policies, procedures and protocols are followed.
- Takes a leadership and mentoring role to assigned staff members.
- Has a good working relationship with physicians in regards to strategic planning, patient care issues, and development of policies, procedures and protocols.
- Attends and participates in medical staff meetings and board meetings.
- Promotes effective teamwork. Displays professional behavior and positive attitude at all times.
- Adheres to organizational policies and procedures.
- Effectively manages hospital resources (time, supplies, equipment, etc.).
- Demonstrates effective leadership principles. Inspires confidence and respect among staff Demonstrates effective ability to manage department and staff.
- Demonstrates ability to work in collegial manner with administration.
- Effective communicator.
- Displays sound judgment in managing and controlling department expenses.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Graduate
- Master Degree Nursing in Nursing or Healthcare Administration from an accredited college or university.
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration from an accredited college or university.
- 10 or more years of nursing experience.
- 5 or more years of nursing management experience.
Required Licensure and Certification
- Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Multi-State - State Board of Nursing
- Basic Life Support Heartsaver (BLS HS) (Non-Clinical) - American Heart Association (AHA)
