Position Summary / Career Interest:
Supervises the Security Department at Olathe Medical Center including scheduling of officers, discipline of officers as needed, performing annual evaluations, etc. Oversees the day to day activities of the department. Investigates security incidents. Is a member of the Environment of Care Committee and regularly reports to the committee regarding Security issues. Responsible for the maintenance of all security systems owned by OMCI. Responds to Security incidents as needed. Performs all Security functions at Olathe Medical Center.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Ensures all open positions are filled in a timely manner and work schedules for the department are distributed in a timely manner.
- Prepares and submits all required reports and evaluations to the Environment of Care Committee as required and submits requested reports to the Director of Building Services as needed.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of security systems in all buildings.
- Performs regular internal and external inspections focusing on security, safety, and aesthetic issues and documents the inspections.
- Responds to all appropriate emergency codes and assists security officers as needed.
- Ensures all work necessary for compliance with TJC, NFPA, OSHA, State of Kansas, EPA, etc. is completed on schedule and properly documented.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Graduate
- 5 or more years of hospital security experience
Required Licensure and Certification
- International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety Basic - International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) within 180 Days
- International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety Supervisor - International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) within 1 Year
- Valid Driver's License upon Hire
- Taser Qualified through an appropriate course provide by the organization within 60 Days
