Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Collaborates with key constituencies to develop and implement the strategic plan, financial performance, patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes for the Emergency service lines.
- Leads the interprofessional team system-wide to evaluate and improve care processes and procedures pertinent to the Emergency Department patient populations.
- Collaborates with the service lines’ Medical Directors to develop and formalize an integrated service line approach throughout.
- Leads the service line in achieving strong financial performance by generating new revenue, containing costs, increasing the quality of care and service offered to patients, maximizing reimbursement and effectively managing the operations.
- Collaborates to develop emergency department goals and to establish, implement, and revise processes, policies, and procedures for department operations in alignment with organizational goals.
- Accountable for driving preeminence throughout the assigned areas. Preeminence is being acknowledged as a leader in quality, clinical care, education and research by your peers.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable legal, accrediting, and regulatory requirements impacting clinical emergency care.
- Acts as a partner of The University of Kansas Health System leadership team and participates in the strategic planning and the attainment of goals for area of responsibility.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- Master's Degree
- 5 or more years of healthcare management or leadership experience
- Management experience in an academic medical center
- Experience in a health system setting in a highly competitive market
- Experience managing multiple complex projects involving multiple customers
