Proposed location and schedule: This full time position located at Olathe Medical Center is 6:45pm - 7:15am with a requirement to be available every third weekend as well as during the week M-F. To monitor noninvasive cardiac activity and other clinical parameters of patient populations ranging from adolescence to geriatric by continuous electrocardiographic display and pulse oximetry. The technician is able to interpret the rhythm and preform critical alarm hand off with the nursing unit appropriately The technician also maintains data related to the monitoring and provides daily reports for the patients' permanent medical record via electronic shift report directly into the EMR.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Actively monitors cardiac rhythms and pulse oximetry, reviews history alarms, scans 24-hours data and performs arrhythmia analysis.
- Accurately interprets and documents cardiac rhythm strips, maintains rate and rhythm documentation, providing-24 hour reports and discharge summaries via shift report.
- Communicates timely with nursing units regarding changed in the patient's rhythm status. Providing critical alarm hand off to appropriate nurse.
- Uses two-person ID verification with unit/nurse to verify proper patient identification, correct telemetry box number and correct unit location for patient safety.
- Accurately records telemetry box placement, with admissions and discharges in the EMR.
- Ensuring communication staff assignment are complete for all units at all sites. Providing real time feedback to units to complete assignments.
- Clerical activity including utilizing Box Status Report and scanning supplemental documentation into EMR.
- Adheres to HIPAA requirements and maintains confidentiality of all data, including patient, employee and operations information.
- Uses technology appropriately, whether entering data or securing data from the computer system.
- Managing one's own time and the time of others. Able to prioritize tasks. Self-motivated and able to make appropriate decisions regarding patient care.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Graduate
Preferred Education and Experience
- Certified Cardiovascular Technician School or comparable certification
- Previous Holter scanning, stress testing, or telemetry experience
Required Licensure and Certification
- CPR/ AED/ BLS - Other BLS within 14 days
Preferred Licensure and Certification
- Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
