Position Summary / Career Interest:

Resource Nurse: -Hours- M-F 8:30-5:30 -Helps nurses by providing support and resources:       -Fill in for breaks or if someone is out.       -Provide guidance and training to new nurses. -Must be comfortable triaging. -Performing prior authorizations. -working in message pools. -uses time and resources to the best possible advantage for successful completion of job responsibilities. -contacting patients to give lab results; helping patient get lab appointments scheduled if needed. -resource nurses should have excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to multitask. The registered nurse utilized the nursing process to coordinate the interdisciplinary approach to patient care. Responsible for promoting and restoring patient's health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and team members; and providing physical and psychological support to patients and their families. Exhibits the core values of the organization, compassion, integrity and unity. He/she practices within the boundaries of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, specialty standards, and organizational/departmental policies and procedures.


Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Consistently meets work schedule.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking utilizing all aspects of the nursing process.
  • Maintains a safe environment for patients.
  • Coordinates health care services with hospital, vendors, physician's offices and other institutions.
  • Answers patient/significant others phone calls, evaluate patient's needs, and triage patient care.
  • Provides patient/family education using resources available.
  • Acts as liaison between patient, significant others and health team members.
  • Identifies area for professional growth.
  • Participates fully as a member of the Patient Centered Medical Home Team.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate Degree Nursing
  • High School Graduate


Preferred Education and Experience

  • 1 or more years of previous healthcare experience


Required Licensure and Certification

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing OR
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Multi-State - State Board of Nursing
  • Staff hired prior to 2/1/2024 are required to obtain a multistate state RN license from the state in which they live at the time of their next RN license renewal by 3/31/2026.
  • CPR/ AED/ BLS - Other BLS
