Responsibilities
Job Summary
Manages all activities and operational areas within the oncology clinic. Manages nursing, clinical support and administrative staff who provide professional care to patients and adheres to health system standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Designs, supports, executes strategic objectives to ensure financial profitability in order to achieve and maintain growth. Continually monitoring national healthcare trends and implementing evidence-based practices. Collaborate and participate in health system quality and performance improvement initiatives. Supports and adheres to The University of Kansas Hospital Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Develops and establishes policies, procedures, and objectives. Ensures their adequate execution, compliance, and updates.
- Oversees the clinical and administrative operations of the practice.
- Analyzes general and specific business conditions as they relate to operational issues and advises supervisor on these matters.
- Within scope of authority, oversees the development of systems (both manual and automated) to properly support practice-wide activities based upon business needs. Coordinates hardware and software requirements of existing and future systems.
- Promotes effective communication and adequate information flow within the practice.
- Oversees the preparation and maintenance of management reports necessary to carry our functions of the practice. Prepares periodic reports as necessary or required.
- Oversees practice compliance with appropriate accreditation body standards.
- Oversees development and coordination of new office locations and their needs as required.
- Maintains effective staffing within budgetary constraints.
- Screens and interviews applicants and orients and trains staff.
- Complete performance evaluations for assigned staff.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedules and coordinates employee staffing including vacations, sick leave and overtime.
- Ensures staff maintain all required competencies on an annual basis.
- Verifies all licensing and national certification criteria are met.
- Assists in verifying encounter form charges to ensure proper/appropriate charges.
- Supervises all clinic staff. Clinical work direction provided by physicians.
- Provides support and direction as required in the area of clinical research in the practice to ensure staff compliance to the established research protocols.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor Degree Nursing
- 5 or more years experience in healthcare management, including at least two years in a supervisory capacity
- 5 or more years actively practicing as a Registered Nurse, including at least 3 years oncology experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master Degree Nursing
- Masters Business Administration
- Master's Degree in Health Care Administration
Required Licensure and Certification
- Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state
- Must have current active multistate state Register Nurse (RN) license in good standing in state in which you live OR active single state RN license in good standing in the state you will be working with proof of application of a multistate RN license in the state in which you live.
- Staff hired prior to 2/1/2024 are required to obtain a multistate state RN license from the state in which they live at the time of their next RN license renewal by 3/31/2026.
- CPR/ AED/ BLS - Other BLS
Preferred Licensure and Certification
- Current oncology or related professional certification
