Position Summary / Career Interest:
The Senior Director, Perioperative & Procedural Services Clinical Operations, provides strong leadership and direction on a daily basis to staff within the Perioperative & Procedural Services Departments at Indian Creek, and SW KC Markets to promote a vision of providing world class surgical and procedural services. On a daily basis the Senior Director is responsible for Mission and Values implementation, operational leadership and direction of assigned departments. Is responsible for assigned services for performance planning and improvement; clinical quality; fiscal and service results; and patient, customer and employee satisfaction. The Senior Director is responsible for promoting timely, high quality and efficient surgical and procedural care. Provides leadership related to quality improvement and performance improvement efforts within areas of responsibility and promotes positive, collegial relationships among all staff within Perioperative & Procedural Services.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Directs clinical operations and integrates services within Perioperative & Procedural Services departments and with other departments. Directs and manages clinical oversight of all divisional depts: preop assessment clinics, operating rooms, procedural rooms, pre/post units and sterile processing departments assigned to Perioperative & Procedural Services. Creates effective work plans, which include, identifying the correct resources, staffing, processes and space needed by the work unit. Directs improvement work as process owner while guiding leaders and teams towards efficiency of work unit operations and use of resources. Sets the work unit's priorities in alignment with TUKHS priorities. Delegates authority and meets deadlines.
- Provides clinical direction and leadership to the Perioperative & Procedural Services departments. Identifies needs of Perioperative & Procedural Services leaders and staff as well as customers (to include Perioperative & Procedural Services Business Operations, Surgical and Anesthesia Departments, etc.) Ensures that Perioperative & Procedural clinical priorities are aligned with the needs and priorities of Perioperative & Procedural Business Operations and other customers. Sets goals for each Perioperative & Procedural department in collaboration with Director Perioperative & Procedural Services Business Operations and Vice President Perioperative and Procedural Services.
- Ensures adequate resources are available to provide high quality care. Oversees the development and management of Perioperative & Procedural Services operating budget and annual capital budget in collaboration with Director Perioperative & Procedural Services Business Operations. Reviews needs for staffing, capital, capacity and support. Assesses staffing plans and surgical case volume projections with demand projections in collaboration with Director Perioperative & Procedural Services Business Operations.
- Oversees as Process Owner Lean improvement activities in Perioperative & Procedural Services Value Streams. Collaborates with Vice President Perioperative and Procedural Services, Director Perioperative & Procedural Services Business Operations, Surgical and Anesthesia Departments, and others to identify ongoing improvement initiatives and Kaizen Workshop targets and Action Bulletins while supporting the unit-based process owners.
- Manages programs to mitigate risk for employee health, patient safety and clinical operations.
- Drives Service Excellence: Champions quality / performance improvement efforts within Perioperative & Procedural Services Clinical Operations. Sets priorities and oversees progress for department-specific PI initiatives based on current performance, regulatory requirements, and institutional and national initiatives. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory standards and requirements including Joint Commission, Dept of Health, FDA, HIPAA, OSHA, and others. Assists the Perioperative & Procedural clinical leadership to assess programs, establish goals and objectives for TUKHS and to prioritize key initiatives and the required resources to implement them efficiently and effectively.
- Promotes positive, collaborative relationships between Perioperative & Procedural Services Clinical Operations and Perioperative & Procedural Business Operations Sets example of constructive, professional and positive relationships at all times. Promotes proactive issue identification and resolution between Perioperative & Procedural Clinical Services and primary customers Ensures active and productive participation at forums for issue identification and resolution.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Graduate
- Bachelors Degree
- Master Degree Nursing or Healthcare related field
- 3 or more years experience in Perioperative and/or Procedural Services Management
Required Licensure and Certification
- Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing
Knowledge Requirements
- Commands advanced communication skills with various levels of professionals within multiple media/formats required
- Proficient on Microsoft Applications preferred
- Proficient in Quality Improvement Techniques and Lean methodologies preferred
