The Employee Health Specialist supports workplace compliance and safety requirements. Assists with Employee Health program implementation and coordination. Manages general office needs and provides administrative support.


Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Assist in the scheduling, coordination, and management of employee health programs and initiatives including pre-hire processes, screenings and clinics.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records related to employee health, injuries, and exposures.
  • Handle employee inquiries regarding employee health programs and workplace injuries.
  • Retrieve and disseminate medical information for injured employees.
  • Schedule and coordinate occupational health appointments and referrals for injured employees.
  • Assist in compiling, organizing, and maintaining employee health data, including pre-hire processes, injury reports, vaccination status, and program participation.
  • Prepare and distribute regular reports on employee health trends, workplace incidents, and other health-related statistics to leadership.
  • Help ensure all health and safety records are updated in a timely manner and comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA).
  • Support the coordination and delivery of employee health programs (e.g., pre-hire processes, flu shots, fit testing clinics, annual screenings, etc.).
  • Assist in promoting health initiatives and educating employees about available health services, benefits, and preventive care programs.
  • Assist with employee health communications and internal marketing efforts (e.g., newsletters, flyers, emails).
  • Ensure that the employee health department’s documentation complies with workplace safety regulations, local laws, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with occupational health, nurse triage line, and external healthcare providers as needed for follow-up on workplace injuries and exposures.
  • Support the injury counselor team with the documentation and communication required for claims processing.
  • Create and maintain communication channels for the employee health team including 24/7, email, fax, and phone.
  • Manage departmental supplies, including health and wellness materials, clinic supplies, and other necessary resources.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Graduate
  • 2 or more years Administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare, employee health, or safety-related setting
  • 1 or more years Experience in data entry, recordkeeping, and preparing reports

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Associates Degree OR
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations, workers' compensation, and HIPAA compliance

Required Language Skills
  • Fluent English -

Knowledge Requirements
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
