Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Coordinates and oversees special projects as requested by Manager. Performs other related work as assigned.
- Makes environmental rounds on unit and reports deficiencies to appropriate person.
- Monitors supply and stock levels and notifies appropriate person if supplies are not available
- Must be able to identify and act appropriately in emergent situations, maintaining a customer service focus; ability to prioritize and manage time; ability to follow direction and understand rationale for multiple steps in a process.
- Notifies RN of reportable incident and assists with completion of incident report as appropriate.
- Participates in improving the quality of care given at the Therapeutic Blood Treatment Center.
- Performs Renal Technician technical skills in accordance with established protocols and techniques.
- Provides patient information in accordance to skill level and competency; assures questions are answered and provides problem-solving assistance within HIPPA guidelines.
- Seeks opportunities to increase knowledge.
- Serves as a resource for information on the nursing unit in accordance to skill level and competency, receiving and disseminating information to nursing, ancillary and medical staff.
- Supports clerical functions of unit.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Graduate
- Completion of a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis Technical/Professional Training or Degree in Hemodialysis Technician within (18) eighteen months of employment.
Preferred Education and Experience
- 3 or more years of broad administrative assistant, office management and/or executive secretarial experience.
- Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility.
Required Licensure and Certification
- Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) - Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) within 18 months of employment and maintain CCHT certification while performing Dialysis PCT duties.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
