Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Performs cashier duties in KU Hospital Cafeteria. Sets up cash drawer, verifies programmed prices with menu item prices, clears and counts receipts.
- Sets up, monitors and/or serves, cleans up catering events located in rooms throughout the medical center/hospital complex.
- Performs other duties in Food Production, Cafeteria, Coffee Shop and Support Service. Cross trained to perform in Physician’s Lounge. Maintains food/product/supply quality and safety following HACCP and departmental standards. Rotates stock, moves supplies to proper storage areas.
- Operates, monitors, sets up, delivers, picks up and cleans any equipment used to perform job duties following directions and unit standards.
- Maintains orderliness, safety, and sanitation or work and /or service areas, according to Cafeteria and Catering requirements and supervisor assignments.
- Assist in the dishroom, when necessary to support catering/cafeteria functions.
- Straightens dining room (picks up trash, pushes in chairs) and cleans tables.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Preferred Education and Experience
- High School Graduate or GED.
- 1 or more years of previous experience using a cash register (will train on system used in Cafeteria).
Knowledge Requirements
- Basic mathematical skills.
