Under the supervision of the Director, the position of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Manager assumes management of the day-to-day operations of the Cardiopulmonary Rehab Department including managing staffing schedules, developing policies and procedures, ensuring a safe environment, participating in the budget process and managing to the budget, performing annual employee reviews and employee professional development, and involvement with daily clinical activity of the department.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Must be able to perform all clinical and technical aspects of cardiopulmonary rehab services including exercise monitoring, arrhythmia recognition, exercise prescription, patient education, and patient assessment per guidelines of the American Association for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and established department policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the monitoring exercise equipment to ensure proper maintenance and repair per hospital policy.
- Develops and manages staffing schedules ensuring a high level of care occurs in an efficient and safe manner at all times.
- Participates in preparing the department FY capital and operating budget and manages to the budget throughout the year.
- Coordinates and participates in monthly in-service and staff meetings.
- Responsible for cardiac and pulmonary rehab program certification renewal process and consistent data input into the cardiac and pulmonary data Registry.
- Develops and maintains department policy and procedure manuals and that department staff is knowledgeable and comply with the policies.
- Does annual performance evaluations on direct reports according to hospital policy.
- Responsible for assuring regulatory compliance, statistical monitoring, and performance improvement per department and hospital policies.
- Responsible for monitoring and reporting patient satisfaction within the department.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information in accordance with Health System policy through monitoring and staff awareness activities.
- Adheres to, performs, and evaluates a multidisciplinary emergency procedure/protocol to assure participant safety in all aspects of the program.
- Interprets and enforces various Health System and department policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains department compliance with The Joint Commission, Kansas Department of Health, and other regulatory agencies regulations.
- Participates in strategic program development in conjunction with the Director and program Medical Director.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Graduate
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing or Exercise Science
- 3 or more years Cardiopulmonary Rehab experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master's Degree in Nursing or Exercise Science
Required Licensure and Certification
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Licensure and Certification
- Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Multi-State - State Board of Nursing
- Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (CCRP) - American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Professional Certification Commission (AACVPR)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- ASCM Certification
Knowledge Requirements
- Proficiency in computer use with working knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel
