Position Summary / Career Interest:
The primary responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Equipment Technician - GB are to process and sanitize needed equipment for patient care areas and the Sterile Processing Department. The Equipment Technician is responsible for the timely pick-up of soiled equipment and delivery of clean equipment from these areas. Equipment is sanitized according to manufacturers' recommendations for all equipment.

The Equipment Technician is responsible for the timely pick-up of soiled equipment and delivery of clean equipment from these areas. Equipment is sanitized according to manufacturers' recommendations for all equipment.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Coordinate the cleaning of Sterile Processing equipment area
- Demonstrates ability to provide care/service safely and efficiently for patient care.
- Maintain inventory of supplies needed to accomplish duties
- Operates the washer/decontaminator
- Pick-up and drop off all Materials Management equipment and deliver to correct area(s)
- Proactively communicates with the Distribution Manager to ensure timely cleaning and replenishment of all surgical instrumentation.
- Serves as the Sterile Processing representative to all Hospital units
- Wears protective gear while performing duties
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Preferred Education and Experience
- High School Graduate
- Janitorial or environmental services experience
Required Licensure and Certification
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician(CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
