Position Summary / Career Interest:
The Citrix Engineer-I is responsible for management and tuning of the Citrix systems and related peripherals. This individual ensures that Citrix system hardware, operating systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling the University of Kansas Hospital and related entities to provide the best possible patient care and financial management. The Citrix Engineer-I takes a primary role in the monitoring, review and ownership of customer-reported incidents assigned to the End User Architecture team regarding the Citrix environment. This individual also contributes to various projects and design initiatives as assigned and coordinates with other HITS teams to solve problems, provide solutions and improve processes.
Responsibilities:
The Citrix Engineer-I is responsible for management and tuning of the Citrix systems and related peripherals. This individual ensures that Citrix system hardware, operating systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling the University of Kansas Hospital and related entities to provide the best possible patient care and financial management. The Citrix Engineer-I takes a primary role in the monitoring, review and ownership of customer-reported incidents assigned to the End User Architecture team regarding the Citrix environment. This individual also contributes to various projects and design initiatives as assigned and coordinates with other HITS teams to solve problems, provide solutions and improve processes.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
- Evaluate, install, configure, and deploy Citrix applications, software, and/or enhancements to existing applications.
- Collaborate with other HITS teams, vendors, system owners and users in the continued support and maintenance of Citrix published applications, upgrades and updates. All of this is done in accordance with the departmental support and change control processes.
- Perform daily monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting of Citrix infrastructure. Identify and resolve issues including performance, application usage, adequate licensing and server capacity.
- Serves as a Tier-II support resource, engaging other team resources as necessary and as defined by support processes.
- Takes ownership of the timely completion of assigned project tasks. Adheres to the departmental and organizational project management methodologies.
- Represents the End User Architecture team in a positive and constructive manner acting with professional and technical competency in all interactions with customers and coworkers.
- Supports and maintains a usable system for the end users. Works with vendors or other outside resources as well as the internal Hospital teams to resolve system issues in accordance with service level agreements.
- Maintains documentation for technical configuration, vendor/system owner contacts, functionality and training. Contributes and maintains common trouble shooting tips in the designated knowledge base
Required:
- High School Diploma
- 2 years of experience in IT field
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, in a related field OR 2:1 equivalent experience
- Citrix Certification
