The Practice Manager II supervises and coordinates the day-to-day office and/or clinic operations. Manages practice activities and assigned operational areas, typically with around 5- 10 providers and up to 25 employees and at least one of the following: multiple locations, specialties, ancillary departments and/or program responsibilities such as residents, research, etc. Assists with the development of practice objectives to ensure financial profitability through short and long-range planning to achieve and maintain growth. Continually evaluates practice strategies and plans to meet changing national, state, and local needs. Supports and adheres to The University of Kansas Hospital Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Directs, supervises, and coordinates the day-to-day clinic operations to maintain maximum efficiency, productivity and quality patient care and satisfaction.
- Performs clinic operations including: bookkeeping, preparation of payroll, personnel management, information management, maintaining filing systems, requisition of supplies and other clerical services.
- Maximizes office productivity through proficient use of computer software applications, creates and maintains timely and efficient work flow and coordinates job duties of clinical staff.
- Hire staff and oversee orientation practices
- Develops a structured communication process for ensuring information is shared with staff.
- Updates clinical and non-clinical staff on quality outcomes and patient experience. Meets with all staff to identify and plan process improvement activities to promote continuous quality improvement based on performance measurement and patient satisfaction results.
- Reviews medical recall list, coordinates with clinicians to develop action plan, and assigns staff to contact patients with provided instruction.
- Assists the front and back office as needed to assure smooth operations and quality patient care and satisfaction.
- Monitors clinic patient population and provides staff with additional educational materials about specific cultures and communication techniques best suited for the population.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in a business or healthcare related field
- High School Graduate
- 4 or more years in a supervisory or lead capacity, preferably in a healthcare setting
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master's Degree in a supervisory or lead capacity, preferably in a healthcare setting
Preferred Licensure and Certification
- CPR/ AED/ BLS - Other BLS
Knowledge Requirements
- Must meet required credentials.
