This includes the oversight of the technical, business and personnel related aspects of ensuring safe patient care. The CT Technologist Supervisor reports directly to the CT/MR Senior Supervisor.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Accept challenges related to Mission and Vision of The University of Kansas Hospital.
- Assist staff in self-development and improvement and provide opportunities for them to become engaged in new procedures, frontline leadership, or personal development.
- Ensures all staff are current with all licensure and documentation to maintain their position on an annual basis. This includes state and national certification specific to their skill, BLS, IV therapy and hospital related LMS competency.
- Ensures that activities related to meeting or exceeding the internal CSA (Radiology Control Self-Assessment Document) are met.
- This document includes but is not limited to release of information, proper ordering and billing of procedures, reporting of test results, accuracy of patient records, monitoring of radiation exposures, charge and medication reconciliation and proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Ensure employee evaluations are timely and provide meaningful and constructive comments, suggestions for improvement and input from employee on personal or department achievements they would like to participate in.
- Maintains technical and clinical competence to be able to collaborate and communicate with Radiology physician champion to ensure that procedures and protocols encourage patient safety and excellent outcomes.
- Maintains technical and clinical care operations at a level to meet or exceed standards related to accreditation and state and national requirements.
- Maintains work schedules to meet the needs of the patient.
- Ensures 24/7/365 staffing and maintains a system that ensures staff are competent on all equipment.
- Plans, develops and monitors quality initiatives to help improve patient outcomes, cost reduction or productivity measures.
- Ensure that hospital policies and procedures are followed consistently; Ensure documentation for variances in time keeping procedures are tracked and attendance policies are monitored and documented.
- Attends department leadership meeting and provides input and feedback to assist in improving overall department quality outcomes.
- Responsible for completion of mandatory educational assignments as provided by Supervisor.
- Should maintain technical and clinical competence to step in and perform procedures at a very high skill level and be able to fill in and take on-call when short staffed or during critical needs.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiology Technology
- 3 or more years 3-5 years in large hospital with RIS and PACS experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree
- 1 or more years large hospital experience
- Academic experience
Required Licensure and Certification
- Computed Tomography (CT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT) - Kansas Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
