The University of Kansas Health System, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, is seeking a dedicated Transplant Hepatologist to join our academic department committed to advancing gastroenterology and hepatology through cutting-edge technology, collaborative research, and outstanding patient care. 

This position offers a unique opportunity to practice in a tertiary care setting while actively contributing to medical student, resident, and fellow education, clinical research, and multidisciplinary patient care. Key Position Highlights:

  • Manage all aspects of liver disease. Essential functions include upper endoscopy procedure, colonoscopy, liver biopsies, as well as patient visits in the outpatient clinic and providing inpatient consultative services
  • Serve as a clinical educator to GI fellows, residents, and medical students
  • Engage in clinical or basic science research
  • Gastroenterology team comprised of 15 Gastroenterologists, 6 Transplant Hepatologists, 3 IBD Faculty and 22 APPs
  • 12 Endoscopy suites - and planning for additional rooms with current expansion
  • Participate in educational conferences

Required Qualifications

  • MD, DO or equivalent 
  • Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology
  • Eligible for licensure in Kansas and Missouri
