Position Summary / Career Interest:

The Cloud Data Architect is responsible for the planning, design, development, and implementation of our cloud data architecture and strategy for the enterprise. This role involves leveraging cloud technologies and services to develop scalable, reliable, and secure data solutions for the organization. This work includes architecture diagrams and thorough documentation for cloud-based recommendations and solutions provided to team leadership, senior leadership, and executive leadership for review. This individual will collaborate closely with Data Architecture, Business Intelligence, Data Governance, Infrastructure, Security, Network, as well as executive leadership to define the organization’s data strategy. This individual will need to be well versed in cloud and hybrid cloud product offerings from the Microsoft Azure Platform including Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Data Bricks This individual will also be responsible for leading the design and development of application database modeling. This includes identifying data entities, relationships, and attributes, ensuring data integrity, performance, and scalability. They will also create conceptual, logical, and physical data models based on industry best practices.

  • Ability to document and diagram complex data architecture solutions and present them back to all levels of leadership
  • Expertise in the following Microsoft Azure technologies: Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Data/Delta Lake, Databricks in order to architect end to end solutions
  • Participates in planning sessions with all levels of technical and non-technical engineering and leadership throughout the health system
  • Has the ability to mentor other technical staff in cloud technologies at all levels of understanding and can adjust the message accordingly
  • Assists in identifying, planning, and migration of on-premises data solutions suitable for migration to the cloud
  • Evaluates and estimates cloud infrastructure costs to assist with budget planning and long-term strategies
  • Capable of creating plans to mitigate risks that security and governance teams identify through Pen testing, security bulletins, and other industry publications
  • Able to implement security measures to protect sensitive data stored in the cloud. This includes defining access controls, encryption mechanisms, and compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Capable of monitoring and optimizing data processing and storage performance with the cloud environments. This includes identifying bottlenecks, tuning databases, optimizing queries, and recommending architectural changes to improve efficiency.
  • Familiar with modern data integration techniques such as data pipelines and real time streaming to ensure data consistency and availability


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required

  • Microsoft Azure Certifications AZ-900 (Azure Fundamentals), DP-900(Azure Data Fundamentals), DP-203 (Azure Data Engineer) If candidate does not have all certs, they will be required to obtain w/in first year of employment.
  • 10+ years of experience leveraging cloud technologies to architect end to end data solutions
  • Expert in SQL development, ETL tools/methodologies, Data Modeling, Data Warehousing design.
  • Knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as Python, C/C#, or PowerShell
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools and how they integrate  into the overall data architecture

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or similar
  • Experience with Master Data Management Tools
