We currently have an opening for IT Systems Sr Support Radiology

Responsibilities:

Critical Thinking:

Demonstrates high level of Imaging IT system integration; Supports implementation including staff and user applications.

Demonstrates ability to organize and implement new systems and projects within the scope of services.

Contributes to enterprise digital image management toward the development of a strategically and technological sound PACS environment.

Assists System Administrator in the maintenance of policies and procedures related to all systems in the Medical Imaging system.

Interpersonal Relationships:

Trains Radiology staff on utilized systems not otherwise provided for via the Help Desk.

Communicates and interacts as liaison to multi-level, multi-specialty IT technical and managerial personnel as appropriate.

Works with hospital management staff to resolve discrepancies with the Radiology Information System.

Articulates and communicates RIS operational issues with the Radiology IT System Administrator.

Supports Radiology leadership in the application of standardized, financial reporting.

Serves as an effective communicator of Radiology IT vision and goals. Expresses ideas clearly and effectively (gaining agreement and/or understanding), by adjusting language, terminology and style to the characteristics and needs of the audience as well as the venue for the communication.

Demonstrates personal effectiveness in leading the Radiology Department IT effort towards its goals. Models appropriate values and maintains and promotes social, ethical and organizational norms.

Technical Skills:

Demonstrates high level critical thinking of Radiology and Hospital Computer Systems Utilized in Radiology.

Demonstrates broad IT knowledge and skills consistent with Radiology computer system functionality. This should include knowledge of HL7, TCP/IP and DICOM protocols.

Experience in installing Windows applications and doing basic Windows troubleshooting functions, like network connectivity issues.

Knowledge in programming using C, C++, C#.

Experience working in Unix or Linux system, with basic knowledge of shell scripts and use of the vi editor.

Ability to program in sql (selects, updates, inserts, deletes).

Ability to create and maintain Microsoft Access data bases.

Provides effective leadership support to the Systems Administrator and Radiology leadership team. Able to strategically identify, internalize and communicate the critical success factors necessary for success.

Manages his/her organizational responsibilities in a way that supports the achievement of the Radiology Department. Works effectively with others in the management team to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems. Skillfully administers, directs and allocates all organizational resources.

Maintains and trains staff regarding the operational Radiology computer system.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems and/or documented 5+ years of proven main responsibility related to Imaging Systems operations and maintenance

PACS (3-5 years) preferred

Radiology Information System (RIS) (3-5 years) preferred

Hospital Information System (3-5 years) preferred

Radiology-based network systems(e.g. Voice Recognition, Imaging Modality Networks) preferred

Unix or Linux experience (vi, scripts) required

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) required

Programming (C/C++,SQL) preferred

Sybase or Microsoft SQL Server (1 year) preferred
