We currently have an opening for a Patient Care Assistant on our Urology/Surgical Oncology unit.

Unit 53 staff specializes in the care of urology, gynecological and surgical oncology patients. This fast-paced unit cares for patients needing surgical intervention to alleviate symptoms, disorders, and cancer related to the kidney, ureter, prostate, and bladder as well as the pancreas, gastrointestinal system, thyroid and parathyroid glands, breast, uterus, ovaries and other applicable systems/organs. Unit 53 is focused on high quality metrics and safe, compassionate care to our patients. We have strong multi-disciplinary partnerships with nationally ranked physicians and care for patients as a team of highly skilled professionals.

Responsibilities

Collects data (i.e. VS, weights, I&O) for initial and ongoing assessment of each patient as delegated by RN.

Documents care per department/unit standards.

Receives/relays all forms of communication accurately, promptly, courteously, and to the appropriate person.

Recognizes care activities/procedures which need to be shared among disciplines to maximize patient-centered, efficient care.

Requirements:

Evidence of Certified Nursing Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant Diploma, or documentation of Fundamentals of Nursing course with KU required basic skills required at time of hire.

BLS Certification required

High school diploma or equivalent required
