We currently have an opening for a Medical Record Coding Supervisor
Coordinates and oversees that all DRG's are assigned accurately and timely.
Insures that all charts are coded and indexed within the allowable number of days to insure timely reimbursement to the Hospital.
Provides educational sessions regarding coding guidelines and DRG assignment.
Follows up and provides feedback on DRG Revisions.
Interviews applicants for vacant positions according to procedures and hiring guidelines, submits all paper work timely.
Trains new employees and existing employees on all aspects of the job. Continually cross-trains employees.
Plans, assigns, reviews, and monitors the daily work of all employees for quality and quantity control.
Maintains prioritized, optional workflow through cooperative work distribution. Maintains a harmonious work environment where teamwork is stressed.
Works together as a supervisory team to support each other in order to accomplish all Medical Record Department goals.
Prepares, writes, and/or updates on a timely basis all position descriptions and performance evaluations.
Prepares, writes, and updates procedures for the section.
Performs ongoing performance improvement reviews to meet JCAHO standards and corporate compliance regulations.
Submits statistical work production figures weekly by the deadline.
Handles office/customer communication efficiently and courteously.
Provides in service education as needed to Medical Record Department employees, students, and others.
Sets a positive example in which their employees can emulate.
Picks up, monitors, and takes action on all computer reports in order to meet the departmental goals as established.
Coordinates and oversees the N-TRACS Burn Registry to insure all burn charts are abstracted accurately and timely.
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associate Degree in Health Information Management required; bachelor's Degree preferred.
3-5 years of supervisory experience in a Medical Record Department preferred
Registered Health Information Technician or Registered Health Information Administrator
