Respiratory Therapy Team Leader Job

Hours: 0700 to 1930 & 1900 to 2300

We currently have an opening for Respiratory Therapy Team Leader - Neonatal Team Leader.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the patient care team.
  • Assists in the assessment and evaluation of Critical Care Respiratory Therapists, Respiratory Therapists and students.
  • Oversees or instructs other staff members during advanced procedures.
  • Accurately evaluates and assesses the patient's condition (to include breath sounds, pulse, drawing of arterial blood, patient color, inspection and palpitation) and takes appropriate action.
  • Educates patients and family members of all developmental and maturational levels (neonatal to geriatric) regarding cardio-respiratory topics, medications, equipment, and procedures. Participates in multidisciplinary discharge planning.
  • Maintains working relations with internal and external customers.
  • Trains students and assists in the training of new employees.
  • Fulfills call duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in respiratory care. Bachelor's or Master's degree is preferred.
  • Current RCP license from the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.
  • Current RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care Inc.
  • 3 years experience in critical respiratory care.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Must have certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS), or complete a Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 3 months of employment date.
