Behavioral Health Technician Job

Hours: 0730-1600, 1530-0000, 2330-0800

We currently have an opening for Behavioral Health Tech II

Responsibilities:

Supervises patients at all times.

Ensures the meeting of patient's basic needs.

Supervises and assists patients through the completion of daily responsibilities.

Provide needed supports to improve treatment outcomes.

Models positive behavior and effective problem solving techniques.

Organizes and assists with structured group activities.

Documents relevant information on each patient regarding behavior and interactions.

Responsible for keeping the unit safe, clean and orderly.

Completes required documentation (forms and reports) per policy and procedures.

May assist in meal preparation and laundry as needed and directed.

Provides patient transportation to visits and other appointments as needed and directed.

Provides crisis intervention and initiates emergency response plan when necessary.

Attends staff meeting as needed and directed.

Attends in-service training and completes all required course work as prescribed.

Completes variance occurrence reports per policy and procedures.

Monitors patient phone calls and visitations as required.

Review patient case histories and become familiar with patient treatment plan goals.

Become familiar with the Employee Manual, Operations Manual and organizational policies and procedures.

Supervises and assists patients with activities of daily living skills.

Completes required annual trainings and may be responsible for training staff.

When appropriate will serve as charge/lead person on unit.

May act in a Lead Capacity when Unit Supervisor is absent from Unit based upon workloads and staffing requirements, as needed.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Bachelor's Degree in psychology, human services or related field required

Six months experience in working with children with behavioral problems
